The state of Baden-Württemberg supports small and medium-sized companies with grants for research and development projects. These projects are intended to create new and innovative products, production processes or services.

 

What you can finance

Innovation voucher BW

• Funding is provided for scientific activities that take place before the actual development of innovative projects.
• Support is provided for research and development projects aimed at designing innovative products, production methods or services in such a way that they are ready for the market or production.
• The funding covers up to 50% of the expenditure. It only covers costs that are invoiced to the company by the commissioned research and development institution.
• Eligible services are scientific activities prior to the actual development of new products, production methods and services. This includes research into technologies, patents or markets, feasibility studies, material or design investigations and studies on manufacturing technology. Implementation-oriented research and development activities are also supported, such as design and construction, service engineering, the construction of prototypes and tests to ensure quality or environmental compatibility.

 

Start-up BW innovation voucher

• The Start-up BW innovation voucher supports young companies (up to five years after their foundation) in carrying out scientific work and implementing projects that focus on the development of particularly progressive ideas in forward-looking areas. This also covers the cost of materials for these innovative projects.
• The funding covers up to 50% of expenses. It only covers costs that are invoiced to the company by the commissioned research and development institution.
• Eligible services are scientific activities prior to the actual development of new products, production methods and services. This includes research into technologies, patents or markets, feasibility studies, material or design investigations and studies on manufacturing technology. Hightech BW innovation voucher

• The Hightech BW innovation voucher supports small and medium-sized companies (that have been in existence for at least five years) in carrying out scientific work and implementing projects. It also covers the costs of materials in connection with the development of particularly advanced innovative products, production methods or services.
• The funding covers up to 50% of the expenses. It only covers costs that are invoiced to the company by the commissioned research and development institution.
• Eligible services are scientific activities prior to the actual development of new products, production methods and services. This includes research into technologies, patents or markets, feasibility studies, material or design investigations and studies on manufacturing technology. Implementation-oriented research and development activities are also supported, such as design and construction, service engineering, the construction of prototypes and tests to ensure quality or environmental compatibility.
